CELEBRATION OF BETTY’S LIFE will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL with Pastor Justin Sweitzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Shire Cemetery, rural Oblong, IL.

Betty Jane Bond, 78, Oblong, IL passed away early Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Betty was born in Crawford County north of Oblong and was the daughter of William Henry Weck and Edith Susan (Mann) Weck. On April 16, 1964 Betty married Paul Eugene “Putt Putt” Bond. He died June 8, 1995.
Betty was a homemaker and member of Prior Grove Baptist Church. She attended Star school. Betty enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers of all kinds and designs and she loved to “hang out” with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Betty is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Kathy and Gary Newell and Carla Bond both of Oblong, IL; three grandsons Mark Newell, Ryan Cafin, and Bradley Cafin all of Oblong IL; two great-granddaughters Amara Jane Cafin and Toni Renee Schlosser both of Oblong, IL; two brothers and a sister-in-law Robert Weck, Robinson, IL and Roy and Jo Weck, Oblong, IL; two sisters and brothers-in-law Karen and Bob Diekmann, Rapid City, SD and Carol and John Heesen of Baraboo WI; sister-in-law Ruth Weck, Evansville, IN: brother-in-law Clarence Leffler, Willow Hill, IL; several nieces, nephews and a special friend Bry Potter, Oblong, IL.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two brothers Donald Weck and Bill Weck and five sisters Maxine, Marjorie, Ethel, Pauline and an infant sister.
